CANINE PHYSIOTHERAPY
Canine physiotherapy is useful for treatment post-injury or surgery and can also be a great way of improving your dogs fitness and mobility. Whether your dog is a puppy or of old age, physiotherapy can often make a difference. Treatment will be tailored to your animal's needs, which may be for a one-off treatment or may require a longer course of action.

REHABILITATION
Canine Rehabilitation is important for post-surgical care as it can aid with pain management, wound care and muscle strengthening. It is also beneficial after injuries as rehabilitation is often need to return the animal to full strength. Individualised treatment plans will be created which include manual therapy, trigger point release, exercises and electrotherapies such as laser therapy. This is useful for wound and tissue healing as well as pain and inflammation reduction.
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance is also an important part of Veterinary Physiotherapy as it can help to improve your animal's current fitness levels or assist in improving their fitness and mobility after injury, ensuring re-injury does not occur. Maintenance physiotherapy can also be useful for dogs with Osteoarthritis and those in pain from old age as it improves mobility and range of motion in their joints.
Maintenance sessions make use of manual therapy, electrotherapies (where needed), and prescribed exercises and stretches for at home.
EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION
Exercise prescription is often an important part of your pet’s recovery and/or maintenance of their condition. They can be used to strengthen certain muscle groups and improve overall body condition.
Exercises may include things such as sitting on command, poles, body movements, wobble cushions or specific stretches. These will be tailored to each animal as they all have different needs and capabilities.
