Rehabilitation, Maintenance & Performance
EQUINE PHYSIOTHERAPY
At C.S Veterinary Physiotherapy, we plan to create an individualised treatment plan depending on your animal's needs, which may be anything from a happy hacker to a competition horse.
Rehabilitation will include working with your vet and other paraprofessionals to achieve the best plan after surgery or injury.
Veterinary Consent is needed for any treatment after surgery, injury, or lameness.
REHABILITATION
Assessment forms an integral part of our approach to treating the whole body. This is fundamental to ensuring your animal's long-term health and wellness.

A treatment plan will be tailored to your horses’ needs as every animal is different. A session will often involve massage, trigger point release, stretching and electrotherapies if required.
MAINTENANCE

These sessions help to ensure the animal stays in a good condition either for fitness or to reduce pain as much as possible.
They will also involve massage, trigger point release, stretching and electrotherapies when needed. These sessions may be less frequent than rehabilitation sessions however, this will vary between horses.
EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION
Exercise prescription will be provided as part of the physiotherapy service. This will be tailored to each animal depending on their conditions and requirements.

Poles
Different pole formations and ground work can often be vital during rehabilitation. They can help to improve an animals proprioception and balance as well as improve their core stability and strength.
Lunging/ Long Lining
This can also be an important exercise for improving suppleness and flexibility without the added weight of a rider.
Stretching
Different stretches may also be prescribed as these can help to target certain muscle groups, reducing tension and aiding growth.
